Retrovir (Zidovudine Injection) and Tylenol Cold Severe Congestion
Determining the interaction of Retrovir (Zidovudine Injection) and Tylenol Cold Severe Congestion and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Case reports have suggested that the concomitant use of zidovudine and acetaminophen may potentiate the risk of bone marrow suppression and hepatotoxicity; however data have been conflicting. The mechanism is unknown. Until more information is available, patients taking both drugs concurrently should be monitored for the development of hepatotoxicity and bone marrow toxicity.
