Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

MONITOR: Coadministration with rifampin may decrease the plasma concentrations of linezolid. The mechanism of interaction is unknown. In eight healthy subjects, coadministration of a single 600 mg intravenous dose each of rifampin and linezolid resulted in reductions of linezolid concentrations by 10%, 20% and 35% at 6 hours, 9 hours and 12 hours postdose, respectively, compared to administration of linezolid alone.

MANAGEMENT: The potential for diminished pharmacologic effects of linezolid should be considered during coadministration with rifampin.
