Consumer:

Vilazodone may increase the blood levels and effects of tretinoin. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Coadministration with vilazodone may increase the plasma concentrations of drugs that are primarily metabolized by CYP450 2C8. Vilazodone has been shown to be an inhibitor of CYP450 2C8 in vitro. However, there are no clinical data on concomitant use with drugs that are substrates of the isoenzyme.

MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised if vilazodone is used concurrently with medications that undergo metabolism by CYP450 2C8, particularly those with a narrow therapeutic range. Dosage adjustments as well as clinical and laboratory monitoring may be appropriate for some drugs whenever vilazodone is added to or withdrawn from therapy.
