Determining the interaction of Vfend (Voriconazole Injection) and Vorapaxar Sulfate and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Voriconazole may significantly increase the blood levels and effects of vorapaxar. Combining these medications may increase your risk of bleeding complications. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising, or have other signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness; lightheadedness; red or black, tarry stools; coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds; severe headache; and weakness. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration with potent inhibitors of CYP450 3A4 may significantly increase the plasma concentrations of vorapaxar, which is a substrate of the isoenzyme. When vorapaxar was coadministered with ketoconazole 400 mg, mean vorapaxar peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) increased by nearly 2-fold.
MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of vorapaxar with potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitors should generally be avoided.
