Carbamazepine Extended-Release Capsules (Carbatrol) and Copanlisib Intravenous
Determining the interaction of Carbamazepine Extended-Release Capsules (Carbatrol) and Copanlisib Intravenous and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:CarBAMazepine may significantly reduce the blood levels of copanlisib, which may make the medication less effective in treating your cancer. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration with potent inducers of CYP450 3A4 and/or P-glycoprotein (P-gp) may significantly decrease the plasma concentrations of copanlisib, which is a substrate of both the isoenzyme and efflux transporter. When a single 60 mg intravenous dose of copanlisib was administered to cancer patients in combination with the potent CYP450 3A4 and P-gp inducer, rifampin (600 mg once daily for 12 days), mean copanlisib peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) decreased by 15% and 63%, respectively. Reduced efficacy of copanlisib may occur.
MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of copanlisib with potent CYP450 3A4 inducers should generally be avoided.
