Celecoxib and Diflucan
Determining the interaction of Celecoxib and Diflucan and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using fluconazole together with celecoxib can increase the effects of celecoxib. This can cause abdominal pain, tarry stools, nausea, vomiting, lethargy or drowsiness. If you take both medications together, tell your doctor if you have any of these symptoms. You may need a dose adjustment if you take both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:ADJUST DOSE: Administration of celecoxib with fluconazole 200 mg daily resulted in a twofold increase in celecoxib plasma concentration. This is due to the inhibition of celecoxib metabolism via CYP450 2C9 by fluconazole.
MANAGEMENT: The manufacturer recommends initiating celecoxib therapy with the lowest recommended dose.
