Limited data suggest that ginger may potentiate the antiplatelet effect of nifedipine. The mechanism of interaction has not been established. Results from one study showed that 1 gram of ginger and 10 mg of nifedipine exhibited synergistic inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation induced by collagen, adenosine diphosphate, and epinephrine in both normal and hypertensive subjects. The clinical significance is unknown.
