Consumer:

Using gemfibrozil together with cycloSPORINE may decrease the effects of cycloSPORINE. Contact your doctor if your condition changes. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Gemfibrozil when used concomitantly with cyclosporine may lead to decreased cyclosporine trough levels and subsequent reduction in effectiveness of the immunosuppressant. The mechanism of the interaction is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: Monitoring of cyclosporine concentrations and clinically observing the patient for signs of organ rejection is recommended.
